Justin spent over an hour helping pack and hand out food donations totalling $150,000 and pledged to fill the school’s pantry for one year. According to the school’s principal, Sherrie Gahn, the children get food bags every weekend. Justin is helping with ConAgra food to make sure they have weekend food bags for a whole year.

Miley Cyrus has some big things up her sleeve in 2013. In addition to dropping her new single, “We Can’t Stop” on June 3, she might also have some music with Justin Bieber on the way.

She didn’t have much to reveal when asked about the rumored collaboration with Bieber, whom she presented with the Top Male Artist prize at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, but she also didn’t deny something is happening between them. She was photographed leaving his studio last Thursday.

“I know pictures are flying around,” she told E! News. “You guys will have to wait and see. I’m the biggest at top secrets. I’ve had this single ['We Can't Stop'] ready for about a year, and I’ve had to keep my lips sealed and just not saying anything. So you’ll see.”

No word on which project the tune will appear on (Bieber is working on new music), but sources add that “something has been in the works for a collaboration.” Last month, his manager, Scooter Braun, confirmed to MTV News that Bieber has been writing songs for the entirety of his Believe tour.

For now, fans have to look forward to Miley’s Mike Will Made It-produced “We Can’t Stop,” serving as the first listen of her 2013 album release. “I feel like I can really be myself. I really have more of a connection of who I am, and I feel like I can maybe express that more in my music now,” she told Billboard about the single, which will get its first play on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show in just a few weeks.

“Me and Mike Will teamed up, and it really just turned out to be perfect and exactly what I wanted, and exactly what I wanted my first sound to be, and my first look to be,” she added. “I think it’s an important message for me to tell my fans — they haven’t stopped waiting, so it’s great.”

Teen superstar plays “Take You,” then shares the stage with Will.i.am.

Justin Bieber was named the winner of the first-ever Milestone Award, presented by Chevrolet at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

In its inaugural year, the fan-voted award highlights artists who have achieved some of the year’s most impressive chart milestones. Bieber captured the award with an assist from his 36 million devoted Beliebers, whom he constantly interacted with via Twitter during his extensive touring over the year. When his album “Believe: Acoustic” hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200, he became the first artist under 19 with five chart-topping LPs.

Bieber accepted the award with a rather candid speech. After taking a moment to bask in his moment, he announced, “I’m 19 years old. I think I’m doing a pretty good job.”

The theme shifted to his own work: “From my heart I really just want to say it should be about the music, about the craft. This is not a gimmick. I’m an artist and I should be taken seriously.”

Bieber beat out fellow finalists Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift. The trio were chosen in mid-April out of a pool of nominees that also included The Band Perry, Miguel, and Pitbull.

Beginning April 1, fans voted for their favorite nominees on Billboard.com/milestone. Voting continued through the live airing of the awards, until presenter Cee Lo Green announced the winner towards the end of the evening.

Justin Bieber returned to Whitney Elementary School on Friday, the same Las Vegas school he played a holiday concert at in December and gifted with a $100,000 donation and $100,000 worth of toys.

Bieber’s new visit was to promote the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign, and celebrate the school’s principal Sherrie Gahn’s endless efforts to improve the lives of her poverty-stricken students.

“Surprising someone very special and fixing some things with #childhungerendshere,” he teased on Twitter before the visit.

Bieher added later, “Thanks to Whitney Elementary and Sherrie for letting me come by again. Love u guys. U inspire me.”

The singer is in Las Vegas for Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards, where he’ll perform.

They battle it out weekly on the Billboard charts, and now they’re competing at the Billboard Music Awards.

Today’s biggest stars — from Taylor Swift to fun. to Maroon 5 — are the key finalists at Sunday’s awards show, airing live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on ABC. Those acts are up for 11 awards each; Rihanna, Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction are up for 10, nine and eight trophies, respectively.

Most of the top stars will also blaze the stage, too, including Swift, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Chris Brown, Selena Gomez and others.

Prince, who will receive the icon award, will also hit the stage, and Madonna, to be named top touring artist, will make an appearance.

Jepsen, whose nine nominations include top Hot 100 song for the ubiquitous “Call Me Maybe,” top female artist and top new artist, will present an award this year.

“The Billboard Awards is kind of a nostalgic one for me because it was the first awards show I attended outside of Canada,” the 27-year-old recalled in an interview. “I had never really done anything quite so big. And to be going back a year later, and to be nominated, and then to also being doing all the fun stuff like pick a dress, and see the party, and watch the show — I feel just lucky to be involved.”

Jepsen’s mentor, Bieber, is up for the night’s biggest award, top artist. Other nominees include Swift, Rihanna, One Direction and Maroon 5. Swift is the only U.S. act nominated for top Billboard 200 album for her multiplatinum “Speak Now,” which will compete with One Direction’s first and second albums — “Up All Night” and “Take Me Home” — Mumford & Sons’ ”Babel” and Adele’s 10 million-selling “21,” which won the award last year.

Bieber, Swift and Mars are also up for the fan-voted milestone award.

Comedian-actor Tracy Morgan will host the Billboard Music Awards, which is celebrating its third year back on the scene following a five-year break.

Jepsen, whose new single “Tonight I’m Getting Over You” features Nicki Minaj, said she’s excited to see the rapper perform with Lil Wayne on Sunday, but she’s also happy to be in her seat and not onstage.

“I can remember being like just a big bundle of nerves last time,” she said. “I’ve had a year of experience under my belt, and I’ll probably still be nervous, but I’ll be way more excited than anything.”

The 27-year-old singer—who catapulted to success last summer with a little help from the Biebs—didn’t have an ill word to say about her pal, who has been on the receiving end of rampant criticism during hisBelieve world tour.

Despite reports claiming the pop star isheaded for a major meltdown, the “Call Me Maybe” singer, who will be performing tonight on American Idol in partnership with the Coca-Cola Harmony Project, is confident her friend is doing just fine.

“All I see is an incredibly hard worker and a man who’s just passionate about what he does,” she told E! News in response to the Bieb’s bad press. “Just putting it on himself to take on a lot all at once,” she added, hinting that Justin’s life in the spotlight would be tough for any 19-year-old to handle.

Still, the “Tonight I’m Getting Over You” singer has nothing but respect for the chart-topping star, and she hopes to emulate his incredibly hard work ethic.

“I think if anything I’m inspired by how hard he works, and I definitely want to add that to my own mantra as just like working really hard and doing my thing.”

Well, Justin, looks like Carly is a friend to keep.

The Voice coach reveals it was a challenge to get Justin to appear in the video for #thatpower

will.i.am has heaped praise on Justin Bieber describing him as a “great talent” but also admits that it was a struggle getting the singer to appear in the video for their new single as he has been performing on his ‘Believe’ tour for several months.

In the video, Justin appears as a hologram while will.i.am and his entourage are seen attempting to activate a mysterious box of light.

In an interview with ET Online, The Voice coach explained that fitting in filming the video with the 19-year-old’s manic schedule was often a challenge.

“I had to fly to Barcelona to shoot Justin Bieber then flew to Japan to work with Rio and the boys on the choreography for it. So it was a lot of trekking.”

The ‘Scream and Shout’ hitmaker has spoken out in defence of the young star saying: “Justin is a great talent.

Of all the people I have worked with over the past five years he is one of the best.”

The Canadian teen superstar has never been shy about opening up, and now he’s done it again.

Considering most of his songs are about the topic of love, we’re not surprised to hear him chatting about his oh-so important dating rules.

And one of his biggest is all about taking charge and being a man as he commented:

“I think it’s up to the guy to be romantic. I think it’s the guy’s responsibility to take [a girl] out. It can’t be the other way around. That would take away my masculinity if that [were to] happen.”

Considering how many buckos the Biebs has we would almost certainly expect him to pony up for dinner and a movie.

Amid the feverish excitement surrounding the arrival of Justin Bieber in Dubai this week, there is one put-upon group of people who perhaps won’t be quite as ecstatic that the world’s most talked-about pop star is coming to Dubai. That’s right: the mums and dads who have not only had to put up with wall-to-wall Bieber at home for the past few years, but now have to escort their little darlings to his concert

If this is you, then you have our eternal sympathies. To prepare you for the sonic boom of thousands of teenagers screaming at the exact same time, we’ve spoken to parents who have already had the pleasure of experiencing “Biebs” on his world tour. Here are their tips for coping with so many Beliebers in one place – and maybe even becoming one yourself.

Brace yourself

“I have to say, it was one of the strangest nights of my life,” says Helen Bingham, who went to the Manchester show with her daughter Lucy, 9, in February.

“It’s a preteen female frenzy – all he has to do is move and they go absolutely bonkers. The best way to prepare is to remember how you felt when you were 12 and who you liked. So for me, that was Adam and the Ants. But you absolutely must listen to a Bieber album, so you have some idea of what you’re getting yourself into.”

“From the parents’ perspective, it’s good to watch his DVD Never Say Never beforehand,” adds Heather Purcell, who took her daughters Megan, 13, and Meredith, 11, and their friend Kate to the concert in Toronto last year. “He came from nothing and, though he might be your typical teen heartthrob, you can see his talent and tenacity in that movie, too. It makes the concert a lot more interesting.”

Take earplugs

“It’s the loudest concert I’ve ever been to,” says Bingham. “It was absolutely deafening – 15,000 preteens screaming really is something else. I mean, I went to see The Stone Roses once, and my whole insides vibrated because of the bass, but that was nothing compared to this.”

“I totally agree,” laughs Purcell. “There was one girl behind us who literally screamed, ‘I love you Justin Bieber!’ throughout the entire concert. I totally embarrassed my kids at one point, when it all got too much and I dared to put my hands over my ears.”

So earplugs are clearly the order of the day – and it might help really little ones to be less overwhelmed by the noise, too. But, parents, make them discreet. You don’t want to humiliate your offspring. Or maybe you do?

Fill your purse with cash

Purcell made the fatal error of promising Meredith a Justin Bieber hat from the merchandise stand after the concert. When they went back, they’d sold out. Cue one incredibly disappointed girl.

“Everybody – and I mean everybody – was wearing something Bieber-related their parents had bought them,” says Purcell. “You definitely need to go with cash in hand, and plenty of it.”

“The merchandising push is phenomenal,” agrees Bingham. “Both in how much it costs and how many girls want it.”

Bingham was relieved that Lucy wasn’t too bothered about a Justin Bieber souvenir. But how did Purcell handle Meredith’s hatless heartbreak?

“I just told her she was lucky she’d got a ticket.”

Tough love. We like it.

Prepare to change your opinion

“When he came out on a zip wire for the first time, it was genuinely remarkable,” says Purcell. “An incredible spectacle, and it confirmed for me that he has the potential to stand the test of time. It was lovely to see how much the kids were enjoying themselves, too. I’d have to say I’d do it again.”

She’s a convert, then. But even the avowed Stone Roses fan Bingham, in the end, found it a memorable experience.

“I did go thinking his songs are quite dull,” she says. “But one thing you do realise is that he’s actually quite musical. He wasn’t just someone standing at the front singing the hits. And as a mother I did feel a bit sorry for him, actually. In no way could he not be mentally affected by the incredible focus on him – it’s sad and not entirely surprising that he’s gone off the rails a bit.

“But the very best thing? I’m five-foot-one, and it was the first time I’ve been to a concert where I could see over the top of everyone’s heads.”

Now if that isn’t a ringing endorsement, what is?

Pop star JUSTIN BIEBER is documenting his worldwide Believe Tour by writing and recording a new song in every city he visits.

The Boyfriend hitmaker embarked on his global trek last September (12) and has already played concerts in New York, Los Angeles and London, ahead of scheduled stops in the Middle East and Africa in May (13).

Now his manager Scooter Braun has revealed the 19-year-old singer is keeping busy during his down time by creating new tracks inspired by his travels.

Braun tells MTV News, “Well, I don’t ever disclose what our plans are, but I will say this: he’s been writing one to two songs a day for the entire tour and he actually labels them by the city he writes them in.

“We started calling it his ‘music journal’ and we’re talking about what should come next musically. And I think creatively he just wants to share all his thoughts through music.”

During his April (13) stop in Norway, Bieber had fans talking when he was photographed with his on/off girlfriend Selena Gomez – and Braun teases, “The Oslo song, you’ll have to see. Norway was an incredibly inspirational place. So you’ll have to see.”

Bieber previously described his music journals in a series of posts on Twitter.com, revealing he wants the songs to tell the real story behind his tumultuous world tour, writing, “Thinking about putting out my music journals from the road… Music journals = let the music do the talking.”

With Justin Bieber well on his way to becoming the prince of shirtlessness, it’s about time that the king weighed in on things, because if anyone has perfected the art of being shirtless nearly all the time, it’s the Texas-born Matthew McConaughey.

After years of taking out the garbage shirtless, running with Lance Armstrong shirtless, playing with his kids shirtless, working out on playgrounds shirtless, and filming movies in which he’s shirtless, McConaughey has more shirtless wisdom than anyone else in Hollywood. And as long as Bieber is ready to fully commit to a lifetime of sunscreen and crunches, we think it’s only logical that he turn to McConaughey for advice.

When MTV asked McConaughey to weigh in on Bieber’s shirtlessness, the king responded with, “He keeps doing it in airports though, right?” It’s true that the Magic Mike star typically wears a shirt through airport security, but that doesn’t mean that he thinks it’s necessary: “I’m not saying you got to wear a shirt in an airport, especially I think [if] he’s flying private. He can wear what he wants.”

Final words of wisdom from the king? Shirtlessness is never out of the question: “It’s appropriate wherever you say it’s appropriate; it’s your shirt.” There you have it, Biebs.

That being said, we do hope that Bieber can learn from McConaughey’s many years of topless experience. Here are five takeaways that would help the young pop star in his half-nude years to come:

Stay in shape: The bottom line is this: Shirtlessness requires a certain physique (and tan). If you’re going to flaunt your body, it has to be worth flaunting. Humans are superficial. Deal with it.

Bring a baby or a dog: One of the main staples of McConaughey’s shirtlessness is looking busy. Playing with a dog is always an acceptable reason to remove your top layer. Also,shirtless babies are a fool-proof excuse. I am in no way encouraging Biebs to have babies, but if and when he does partake on the journey that is fatherhood, he will realize that shirtless men with their shirtless babies is not only acceptable, but it’s actually sexy.

Embrace head accessories: If you’re going to remove a key part of your wardrobe, be sure to supplement with something like a hat, a headband or even sunglasses.

Let your ego go: When McConaughey is shirtless, he’s comfortable, which means his hair is a little crazy, he isn’t necessarily wearing any deodorant, and it still works. If you try to look sexy while shirtless, is can have the opposite effect.

Steer clear of full nudity … and bongos: Being shirtless is all good and free-spirited. But playing the bongos in the nude? Let’s just say that if McConaughey can’t pull it off, no one can.

The 19-year-old first teased his “music journals” on Monday and has since created the hashtag ”#musicjournals,” which left Beliebers scratching their heads. To clear up the vague Twitter mystery, MTV News looked to Braun to open up about Bieber’s new project.

“Well I don’t ever disclose what our plans are, but I will say this: he’s been writing one to two songs a day for the entire tour and he actually labels them by the city he writes them in,” he told MTV News Tuesday night at the Time 100 Gala.

So… that’s a lot of tunes! In more than eight months since his tour kicked off in September, Justin has hit up cities like New York, L.A., London, Berlin and Madrid, among others.

“We started calling it his ‘music journal’ and we’re talking about what should come next musically,” he added about the songs. Perhaps he’s hinting at Biebs’ next album? “And I think creatively he just wants to share all his thoughts through music.”

Bieber got fans buzzing last Saturday when he posted and promptly deleted a photograph of him with Selena Gomez, who had reportedly visited her ex during his stop in Oslo, Norway. What we want to know is: what is the “Oslo” song going to sound like?

“The Oslo song, you’ll have to see,” he teased. “Norway was an incredibly inspirational place. So you’ll have to see.”

Michael Bublé has claimed that Justin Bieber handles his fame with “dignity”.

The singer defended his fellow popstar following a period when the teen sensation has received a hard time from the press for recent antics, including turning up two hours late for a concert in London last month.

“I’m glad I didn’t achieve fame until I was almost 30,” Bublé told the Daily Star.

“I had become the man I am, the man I was going to be. If it had happened when I was 17 I would have been a prick.”

He added: “I think, for what Justin Bieber has been through, he is remarkable. He has handled it with dignity.

“I am a fan of the way he handles himself. They should give him a medal for smoking a joint; it made him human – he’s just a kid.”

Representatives of the Anne Frank House on Monday praised Justin Bieber for his visit to the museum after a weekend in which a message he left on a guestbook there set off a maelstrom of criticism.

A short note posted Monday on the Facebook page of the Anne Frank House said: “The Anne Frank House was pleased to welcome Justin Bieber to the Anne Frank House last Friday. We think it is very positive that he took the time and effort to visit our museum. He was very interested in the story of Anne Frank and stayed for over an hour. We hope that his visit will inspire his fans to learn more about her life and hopefully read the diary.”

On Saturday the house, which is in Amsterdam, said in a Facebook post that Mr. Bieber visited there on Friday before he performed a concert in Arnhem. He wrote in a guestbook: “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.” (That is, one of Mr. Bieber’s fans.)

That brief message drew many angry comments from people who said Mr. Bieber did not respect the sanctity of the house and was using Anne Frank to reflect on his own celebrity. ” Glad he went,” one commenter wrote on the Facebook post, “but, the last sentence is VERY self serving. he missed the lessons of Anne totally.”

Mr. Bieber has not yet commented on the visit but Annemarie Bekker, a spokeswoman for the Anne Frank House, told Reuters that she and her colleagues were “a bit overwhelmed” by the response that his comments drew.

“He’s a 19-year-old boy taking the effort to come and see the museum,” Ms. Bekker said, “and we’d like to point that out, and I think it’s quite innocent what he put down.”

This tour footage means that we’ve seen most of these outfits before, but if you think about it, that’s a good thing! Prepaid debit cards are the new celebrity fragrance.

In the past two years, we’ve seen stars like the Kardashian sisters, Suze Orman, Russel Simmons, and George Lopez all plaster their faces on plastic.

For the most part, even their famous mugs weren’t enough to win over personal finance critics, who have widely panned prepaid debit cards for their bevy of hidden usage fees.

Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber most recently tapped into the industry. He’s earning $3.75 million to market the new SpendSmart Card, which targets tweens.

When we first reviewed the card in January, we were pleasantly surprised to find it wasn’t as bad as we feared. In fact, for parents willing to take a gamble on prepaid debit cards to teach their kids how to manage money, it may have a lot to offer.

Here’s the main reason why:

Yes, there are fees. But they actually pay for something.

Like all prepaid debit cards, Bieber’s SpendSmart card comes with its fair share of fees –– including a $3.95 monthly usage fee, a $1.50 ATM fee, and a $7.95 replacement fee, to name a few.

But unlike other cards, which are basically charging you for the privilege of letting them store your cash, parents are actually getting something in return here.

The card not only lets parents get text alerts every time their kid swipes their card, but they can also set up recurring deposits to the account, track their spending from their smartphone, lock and unlock the card whenever they want, and block the card from working at certain retailers (say, a liquor store or bar).

This card could certainly be a useful tool for parents looking to teach their kids to manage money, especially if they don’t quite trust them to handle their own bank account yet.

That being said, it’s always wise to exhaust all of your other options first. Try a web tool like Tykoon, perhaps. For free, it lets you track your child’s allowance and makes sure kids save and donate a portion of their earnings each month.

There are also cheaper prepaid debit cards on the market. Cardhub.com and Nerdwallet.com are great resources if you’re looking to compare the benefits between different cards.

And, of course, there’s always the safest route of all –– opening an actual checking or savings account on your kid’s behalf and coaching them on your own.

JUSTIN BIEBER earned $55 million in 2012, according to Forbes, but in new videos for the SpendSmart Payments Company, which offers a prepaid debit card for teenagers, the singer talks about his modest upbringing.

“You know when I was a kid, we didn’t have a lot of money, so me and my family had to watch the money that we spent,” Mr. Bieber says in a video directed at his young fans. “I learned if you have $100 or $100 million — if you spend more than you have, you’re going to go broke.”

Mr. Bieber urges viewers to “have a talk with your family about money” in the video. “Managing your money is important,” he says, “and there’s a great company that can help you do that called SpendSmart.”

The video, by BrandFire in Manhattan, will be shared by Mr. Bieber beginning Thursday on his YouTube channel (more than two million subscribers), Facebook page (more than 52.4 million followers), and on Twitter (more than 37.3 million followers).

Subsequent videos, called “Real Talk,” also will feature Mr. Bieber discussing financial literacy and encouraging teenagers to share their videos.

Mr. Bieber is being paid $3.75 million for a 14-month contract, along with potential monthly royalties tied to the growth of active SpendSmart cards, according to documents the company filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The deal also, according to the filing, includes a stock option to buy two million shares of SpendSmart stock, which was trading at 38.8 cents a share Wednesday.

Noreen Jenney Laffey, president of Celebrity Endorsement Network, said she would have expected such a deal to earn Mr. Bieber closer to $2 million, but she lauded SpendSmart both for choosing the singer to reach teenagers and for focusing on social media rather than traditional advertising.

“The marketing strategy and the choice of talent for this is brilliant, as is merging it into his social media network,” Ms. Jenney Laffey said.

The SpendSmart card has a number of features intended to teach teenagers financial literacy while enabling parents to monitor them.

When teenagers use the card, which has a MasterCard logo, parents can be alerted instantly to the purchase through text messages and a smartphone app. Parents may pre-emptively block purchases from Web sites, and instantly lock the card after seeing anything objectionable. Real-time monitoring fosters what SpendSmart, in marketing materials, calls “teachable moments.”

Introduced in 2009 as BillMyParents, the card was first marketed mainly as a tool to let teenagers shop online with parental oversight. But for many the name BillMyParents equated parents with A.T.M.’s.

Thus, the company renamed the card and company SpendSmart to highlight its “mission of being a responsible teen spending company,” said Michael R. McCoy, who became chief executive of the company in 2011.

“Parents have an easier time talking about drugs and alcohol with their kids than the family budget and financial literacy,” said Mr. McCoy.

The average SpendSmart cardholder is 16, and the card is used most frequently to buy food (especially fast food), followed by gas, technology (like iTunes, electronics and games) and clothing.

A revamped SpendSmart Web site will be frequently updated with articles about financial literacy from Brafton, a content production agency.

There were seven million prepaid cards in circulation in 2012, more than double the number in 2009, according to CardHub.com, which monitors the industry.

A 2012 report by Consumer Reports criticized prepaid cards over exorbitant fees. Among 15 prepaid cards examined in the report, 13 charged monthly fees (from $2.95 to $9.95), 14 charged for A.T.M. withdrawals, 12 charged for checking balances at A.T.M.’s, and five charged for periods of inactivity.

SpendSmart fees include a monthly fee of $3.95; loading fees of $2.95 from a credit card or 75 cents from a checking account (a single scheduled monthly automatic payment from a checking account is free); $1.50 to withdraw from any A.T.M. (in addition to A.T.M. surcharges), and 50 cents for an A.T.M. balance inquiry; $7.95 for a replacement card; and $3 for 30 days of inactivity.

After reviewing the SpendSmart fee schedule, Michelle Jun, a lawyer with Consumers Union, which publishes Consumer Reports, said SpendSmart fees were not as high or numerous as those for many prepaid cards, but she still advised against the card.

“We would not recommend that parents use prepaid cards for their teens,” Ms. Jun said. “It doesn’t help your teen establish a credit history or a relationship with a financial institution, so we recommend going the traditional route and opening up a checking account at your bank or credit union of choice.”

In an appearance on the Fox Business Network in January, John Ulzheimer, president of consumer education at SmartCredit.com, said that fees for the SpendSmart card were lower than those for many cards. But “that’s like saying my broken arm is not as bad as your broken arm” because it is “comparing two bad things and trying to say that one is actually better,” he said.

“If you just take the monthly fee and nothing else — meaning that you do nothing else punitive so they can hit you with the fees,” Mr. Ulzheimer said of SpendSmart on Fox, “you’re still paying a little over $47 a year as an annual fee to get access to your own money.”

Before joining SpendSmart, Mr. McCoy ran the consumer credit division for Wells Fargo, and he said that during the height of the recession many consumers “got in over their heads because they just flat out spent too much.”

SpendSmart could help teenagers avoid the same fate, he said.

“Instead of trying to teach adults better spending habits, I thought, ‘My goodness, there has to be a different way,’ ” said Mr. McCoy. “We’re helping families to teach youth better spending habits.”

“Extra’s” Jerry Penacoli sat down with Latin singing legend Julio Iglesias, who is preparing to release the album “1,” which highlights 45 years of his hit songs. Iglesias opened up about his career and who he would still like to work with.

The 69-year-old said his career-defining moment in America was the song, “To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before,” his duet with Willie Nelson. Julio explained, “I remember I couldn’t speak English at all, and it took me a long time to sing, ‘To all the G-G-G-G.’ Now when I go back to that moment, I am very thankful because I think without that music, that song and Willie Nelson, I would not be here today.”

Speaking of duets, Iglesias said he would love to work several artists. “Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber. I love that little guy… I was watching him the other day with the guitar singing and it was magic. He’s a guy who is going to stay on the road longer than people think.”

Sure, Justin Bieber’s used to dealing with throngs of worshipful fans singing his praises.

But when it comes to his own life of spiritual worship, the popster’s religious roots go deep.

E! News’ Jason Kennedy recently chatted with the “Beauty and a Beat” crooner’s longtime pastor, Judah Smith of The City Church in Kirkland, Wash., and the spiritual leader opened up about Bieber’s ties to their Christian faith, and to their own unique connection with each other.

Turns out, Smith’s voice was a literally a lullaby of sorts to Bieber when the pop-star-in-the-making was growing up.

But first, let’s backtrack a bit: Smith—who has just written a new book called Jesus Is…—tells us that he crossed paths with Bieber’s family when the singer’s mom, Pattie Mallette, gave him a phone call to let him know that they were in Washington and wanted to meet with him.

According to Smith, when he finally spoke with Mallette, he learned that years ago—back when Biebs was much younger—she and her son had attended a conference where he spoke, and that she had purchased some of his inspirational recordings.

“So I went up there, and come to find out him and his mom had been to a conference years ago,” Smith recalls. “And she got some of my tapes, literally tapes not CDs, and would play them as he was going to sleep.” (Quite the lullaby, indeed.)

It appears that the pastor left a strong imprint on the budding performer, even at such a young age.

“When I met him, one of the first things Justin said was, ‘Do you remember meeting me?’” Smith said about finally chatting with the much older Bieber face to face.

“And I said, ‘Well, I don’t.’ He said, ‘Well, you’d put me to sleep at night.’”

These days, Smith says, the two value their tight spiritual bond. “Justin and I share Scriptures on a regular basis and communicate,” Smith reveals. “And I think you find a lot of comfort and clarity in the Scriptures.”

In matters of faith, it seems, the Believe crooner lives up to his hit album’s moniker.

The Webbys are probably the only awards show on the planet where Justin Bieber and Barack Obama are in the same category.

The 2013 Webby Award nominees were announced today and the President and the pop star have each been tapped for best Social Media Campaigns in the Interactive Advertising & Media.

Bieber received a nod for his “Girlfriend” fragrance launch while Obama got one for his “Obama for America” re-election campaign.

The two join other Internet-savvy celebs like Lena Dunham, Jerry Seinfeld, Lady Gaga and many more for the annual awards ceremony that honors some of the most interesting things on the Web.

Besides showbiz stars, the awards show honors viral YouTube videos, mobile apps and Web advertising. Last year, Instagram won Breakout of the Year, Nyan Cat was the Meme of the Year and Louis C.K. won Person of the Year.

Fans can vote for the The Webbys’ People’s Voice Awards. Voting ends at midnight on April 25. The show will take place May 21 and will be broadcast at WebbyAwards.com a day after.

Some may argue that Justin Bieber’s songs are masterpieces out of the gate (they would be mostly of the tween persuasion). But Steve Pycroft felt that, while Bieber’s songs had potential, one song in particular coud be raised to a new — and baroque — level.

Pycroft took Bieber’s pop tune “Beauty and Beat” and rearranged it for a performance by the countertenor Robin Blaze and the University of York Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir. The song maintains the original lyrics, but has a whole new feel when slowed down and classed up.

It’s a much different type of cover song than we’re used to, but it does go to show that any way you slice a Bieber song, it’s gonna go viral.

Justin Bieber has faced a lot of criticism over his wild-child antics lately, but perhaps the teenager is looking to turn over a new leaf as he honours the memory of a young fan who died from cancer last year by supporting a charity set up in her name.

Justin appears to be moving away from the troublesome reputation he gained on the road during his Believe World tour, and seems to be embracing a much more positive attitude to his work-load, despite being faced with allegations that he spat in his neighbour’s face and faces a fine over bringing his pet monkey on a flight to Munich.

The singer retweeted Russell Simmons’ inspirational message in a bid to assure his followers that he’s staying away from trouble last week: “Create happiness. Get dat ass to work, smile and breathe in every situation”.

More importantly, as he returns to the studio, the 19-year-old is keeping one very special thing in mind as he sheds his bad-boy ways; his number one fan Avalanna Routh, who died last year from a rare form of brain cancer.

The six-year-old, who called herself Mrs. Justin Bieber, had her dreams come true when the Baby hitmaker flew her and her family out to New York to spend Valentine’s Day with him last year, and Justin is clearly willing to keep her memory alive as he has offered himself as a prize for a fundraising initiative organised by Alavanna’s parents, who set up Cure ATRT in their daughter’s name.

“Miss her”, Justin tweeted of Alavanna alongside a link to the competition details, as the young girl’s parents have admitted their delight to have the superstar on board. Writing on the CureATRT.org website, Mr. and Mrs. Routh said:

Avalanna touched people’s hearts around the world. One of those people is Justin Bieber. Justin continues to be the wonderful husband to our Avalanna – as he always has been. We are excited to announce that Justin would love to meet the person who raises the most funds for Cure ATRT… So, today we launch this competition, in honor of our Avalanna – Get your fund raising started… you have until July 1st.
